Infinity Builds on Commercial Success to Secure Residential Site
Friday, 15 May 2009
Infinity’s property fund is set to build on its commercial success by venturing into the residential property market.

The ambitious fund has purchased a 2.1 acre site in Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, for an undisclosed fee. Planning permission has been secured to build 21 houses on the Prospect Road site – two miles south of Ashton-under-Lyne town centre.

Dukinfield is the first residential investment and development project for Infinity, which has quickly established itself as one of the region’s most up-and-coming property specialists.

Last month, the fund completed the purchase of 53 King Street in central Manchester, in its first joint venture with Vision Developments.  The £6 million purchase sees both organisations securing an equal share in the property, which houses Lloyds TSB.

The Dukinfield development proposes a mix of 14 three-bedroom houses and seven, four-bedroom properties. The high quality and modern homes will be built using both innovative and sustainable design and building techniques – an unwavering feature of Infinity-funded projects.

Les Lang, property partner at Infinity, commented: “Dukinfield is an exciting project and excellent investment that marks a significant turning point for the Infinity property fund as we strengthen our portfolio in the residential market.

“We remain strongly committed to funding and developing prime locations throughout the region that offer innovative development opportunities – both commercial and residential. Despite the current pressures on the residential market, we’re confident that the Dukinfield development will provide a unique opportunity for buyers in the Greater Manchester area who are looking for modern and high quality properties."

Infinity has worked alongside a number of partners on the deal. These include: commercial real estate agents King Sturge and Clarion Solicitors
